Maybe so that you you ask the question ? I don't really know what is meant here, dear Scathach, so I'll answer as best I can.

First, well, maybe this has something to do with the story being told here, who knows, maybe on the next pages there will be clues... We're not into a "daily humorous strip" with Cuchulainn, the entire storyboard is 1200 pages long as for now, so this story needs time to develop There are many questions that will be answered in 1, 2, 3 or even 4 years time.

Second : every time ? Hey, to begin with, it's the first time we see him in the Cuchulainn Storyline, and second, if you're referring to CucuC, what about :

... he can hardly be depicted as the easy guy. As your Pseudo suggests, you're well acquainted with the Tain epic, and hence you cannot just ignore that. There is humour from time to time in the Tain, But it's scarce. I guess that our version of Setanta/Cuchulainn laughs more often than the canonical texts suggest. And to tell you the truth, this was one of our greatest concerns when we begun adapting the Tain to a Comics series. Story just isn't funny. It's about head cleaving warriors.
