@Stephen Flint : Hi Stephen

Yes, it was bound to happen, right ?
The deadly hurley....
And the non-less deadly sliotar !For our non-Irish readers, or for our reader who don't know about hurling, Setanta's stick is called a Hurley, and the Sliotar is the ball. And YES, this is the ancestor of all kind of sports, hockey, hurling, and most probably even of Golf.
Does one of our readers know more on this subject ?
cheers:)

@Cathbad : Hi back, Cath. been a while, eh?
now, my teachers always told me that wikipedia isn't very good, as far as researching goes, but, its never steered me wrong much, before, especially when a page has a list of references longer than it does subject. So, heres Hurling from Wikipedia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurlin...
from waht im getting, its most like hockey, baseball, american football, and its a hell of a game, making rugby seem pretty tame...course, this is a game coming from a culture whos warriors would go into a frenzy of seething rage and murder, and do nothing less than butcher their enemies into jerky strips.

@stephen Flint :
Yup, those are the infamous set !Thanks for the link. And you're right, Wikipedia is by no means designed for researchers, bur rather for the 99.9% of the population who aren't
I've also been warned again and again by friends of ours, but as a starting point, it's as good as any other source on the web
Far better, most often than not.Thx.
